Baby Boy Diaper Cake Diaper Decorations

I started my diaper cake with a plastic cake plate (from the dollar store). Next I glued a large baby powder to the center of the plate. I wanted small diapers, so I used 70 (8-14 lb) diapers.

I first rolled each diaper, with the pictures to the inside and secured with a rubber band. Next I started the first round for the first labor, securing the whole "circle" with a large rubber band. Repeat for layer two. When I got to layer three the powder container was too small.

I used a piece of wrapping paper cardboard, to place the elephant on top. Then I began using ribbon to cover the rubber bands. Next I added various baby items. Some were party decorations, and others were misc items that mom can use for baby. For the blue baby blocks, I used wooden craft sticks, and glued them to the blocks and then stuck between diapers.

The shower is two weeks away and I can hardly wait for the Mom to see it.

MY TIP: Have someone help you secure the layers with rubber bands, it can be a little tricky.

Also, I had about 10 diapers left over, I bundled them into two 5 bundles with ribbon and baby rattle to be used as additional decorations. They look so pretty.
