Boy Castle Diaper Cake
Sylvia sent pictures of an adorable Boy Castle "Little Prince" Diaper Cake she made to share with us. I love the color combination she used for it. There are lots of little fun details she added to make it special. Thanks for sharing your pictures and ideas with us Sylvia. It turned out so cute.
I rolled 3 large bags of diapers and used white rubber bands on each one to hold. I bought a rectangular pretty box (so they will have to keep) and used this for my base. Then I put diapers around and layered up to the top of the box, making sure I could remove the top of box.
I tied each layer with fishing line to hold steady and wrapped ribbon around to secure. Made 2 layers on top of box using the same technique ( make sure you can remove top). For the top of cake I used a decorative box and filled with flowers and Elephant. Used regular card stock to make top of towers on sides. I made the towers out of 3 rolled diapers and joined them together with ribbon and hot glue. Made flag for tower with toothpick and triangle cut piece of ribbon. Used straight pins to put ribbon on front for drawbridge and used diaper for the drawbridge. Added a piece of ribbon down the middle of drawbridge diaper. Used a blue and brown boa around bottom. Added a few stuffed animals and a crown around top and "Little Prince" sign. This is a large centerpiece so always use a board or something that you will be able to lift without tearing up. Lift off the top of box and fill with baby items.
