Girls Diaper Cake

Tell us about your diaper cake! We would love to hear all about it...

Who did you make it for?
A co-worker's first born child

Was there a theme or style you followed?
Pink/purple and butterflies

How many diapers did you use in your cake?
50 size 1 diapers

What were the ingredients?
50 diapers, 3 pack of socks, 2 onesies used for the lollipops, shampoo, baby lotion, 2 bibs, plastic pacifiers, baby pins, receiving blanket, baby bottle, hand sanitizer,2 burp clothes for cake to sit on,stuffed animal, head band & barrettes, straight pins, ribbons.

How did you make it? I first rolled the 50 diapers and tied pink string around them.I used a small gift box in the center of the bottom layer, and put diapers around it. Believe it or not I set the box in a 12 inch fry pan and put the diapers around it to form a circle. My husband helped hold them together while I tied a ribbon around them to keep in place. I then flipped them over onto the tray I was using for the cake. I then took wider ribbon and went around the layer. For the second layer, I used a smaller fry pan, repeating the same steps. For the top layer, I used a receiving blanket as the base with some diapers placed in the middle. This is where I pinned the stuff animal to. Once all layers were done, I began to add stuff for the theme.

Anything else you would like to share with us about your diaper cake or the occasion?
This was my first diaper cake and I really enjoyed doing it. It took me about 2 hrs to assemble.

Great job on your first diaper cake Jennifer! I love all of the little girly details! Your frying pan story was fun. I never thought of using one, but they do have the circle shape you would need. ;) Thanks for sharing your project with us!
