Jungle Diaper Cake

The mom-to-be didn't know what she was having so I got the idea from her nursery theme of "The Jungle Book". I started with rolling the diapers and securing them with small clear rubber bands. Then I grouped the rolled diapers together to create a round tier and secured the tier together with thin white yarn.

I choose to do 4 tiers for this cake so each tier is a different size starting with the largest at the bottom and ending with the smallest on the top. The tiers are held together by stem of the greenery you see coming out of the top of the cake.

As for the decorations, I decided to have the diaper tiers act as the trunk of a tree with the greenery portraying the leaves of the tree. For the "trunk", I wrapped the diapers in various shades and patterns of brown ribbon. I choose travel sized bath supplies and secured them to the diaper cake with brown ribbon. I attached bold orange flowers to each of the tiers in a diagonal to create color and attraction.

I was able to use the stems of the flowers to anchor each flower in-between each tier of diapers. I then added a baby toy monkey to the green "Leaves" to tie the jungle theme all together.

So cute Allison! Thanks for sharing your diaper cake photos and instructions with us!
