Pink and White Princess Diaper Cake

Donisha's Princess Diaper Cake
Tell us about your diaper cake! We would love to hear all about it...
Who did you make it for?
I made the pink cake for my granddaughter, Donisha Stelly and the blue cake for my niece, Magan Reado.
Was there a theme or style you followed?
I matched the colors of the diaper cakes with the colors of the baby shower.
How many diapers did you use in your cake?
I used between 68 and 70 diapers for each cake.
What were the ingredients?
I used baby diapers-size 2, rubber bands, clear tape or hot glue, wooden dowels, ribbon, and baby items.
How did you make it?
Roll the diaper from open side to closed side. Secure with a small rubber band in the middle of the roll. Roll about 7 or 8 diapers for the top tier. Next, roll about 19 or 20 diapers for the second tier. Roll about 36 diapers for the bottom tier, depending on the size you want your bottom tier. Secure each tier of diapers with a large rubber band. Stack the tiers from bottom to top. Stick two wooden dowels through all three layers of the cake to keep it stable. Be careful not to puncture any of the diapers. Next, put a piece of ribbon, wide enough to cover the rubber bands, around each tier. Secure each ribbon with clear tape or hot glue. Decorate your cake with baby gifts or with your baby shower theme items. I cut a piece of cardboard and covered it with aluminum foil for the base. I also put the cake in a big, clear gift bag and put a matching bow.
Anything else you would like to share with us about your diaper cake or the occasion? The pink one was my first diaper cake and the blue one was my second cake. I also made this diaper wreath for the first time.
