Princess Butterfly Diaper Cake
Here is a princess butterfly kisses diaper cake I made. I put all the large items in the middle, like wipes bottles and a towel. I attached the wipes box to the bottom and put 2 baby bottles on top secured with a bit of tape.
Then I wrapped the towel around the bottles to leave a nice round cylinder to start attaching diapers. I started fanning the diapers around them in the 4 layers using about 2 bags of 25 size newborn diapers, secured first with a large rubber band. I added as many diapers as I wanted to the bottom layer (about 3/4 of one bag).
Then I began the second layer, (which is about 1/2 of one bag and around 14 diapers). Then I began the 3rd layer using a fresh rubber band and about 1/3 bag 7-10 diapers. I started the top layer with a new rubber band and remaining diapers.
I secured tightly with wide ribbon and with a little hot glue to each layer then I attached a handmade tutu to the bottom layer and attached some small toys and useful items with thin bright ribbon to the outside.
I found a wonderful crown shaped candle holder at a craft store and a few wire butterflies that I attached to the top with a length of ribbon to the top layer, also I opted to get some coordinating flowers to make it all pop! They were hot glued to the front of each layer it also came with a matching mum for the mother to hang outside the hospital room door.
