Tell us about your diaper cake! We would love to hear all about it...
Who did you make it for?
This was for my Sister in Law Samantha and baby Morgan!
Was there a theme or style you followed?
She is decorating the nursery in Zebra Prints with Lavender as the main color.
How many diapers did you use in your cake?
We used 196 Size 2 diapers
What were the ingredients?
1 Large Zebra fleece throw blanket. (For mommy when rocking in the nursery)
1 Baby velvet blanket.
1 White soft blanket and a lavender basket.
1 Webkinz stuff animal
1 M - cake topper
1 of each of the following, Lavender Shampoo, baby wash, powder and lotion. (Good Night line)
6 sets of socks rolled into flowers.
6 washcloths made into flowers.
7 Safari type wooden animals (Purchased from Hobby Lobby for less than a dollar each)
How did you make it?
I folded each of the blankets into the width of the height of the diapers. Then used diaper pins to hold the ends together. I stood up the blanket and began to fill it with rolled diapers. Once I got to the middle I used a gift wrapping roll to hold the layers together. Hot glued 3 different widths and colors of ribbon to make the band. Then I just began decorating. I used foam board as the base and wrapped it in zebra print wrapping paper. I made a few bows to add a girly touch and voila!...it was complete.
Anything else you would like to share with us about your diaper cake or the occasion?
This was my first cake. I knew the colors and then just went shopping through baby stores looking for items to go with the theme. It was very time consuming but fun!!!
